Here at AXA, we understand that sometimes rented house insurance can be unclear both for landlords and tenants, which is why we aim to make it as simple as possible. As a landlord we understand that protecting the property you own is important. For this reason, we have created a specific Landlord insurance policy which covers damage to both the physical property, as well as any contents you may own inside the house depending on your chosen policy.

What type of Landlord Insurance does AXA offer?
With AXA you can choose between two different types of Landlord Insurance policies – Buildings Only Insurance or Buildings & Contents insurance.
The main difference between these two policies is that with Buildings Only insurance, your physical buildings, driveway, patio and fixed appliances are covered. Buildings and Contents Insurance covers your property and contents you own.
Although Landlord Insurance is not a mandatory requirement, we recommend insuring your assets in order to financially protect yourself in the event of unforeseen circumstances. Terms and conditions apply, and you should consult your policy documents.
As a landlord, am I responsible for insuring my tenant’s contents?
When renting your house to third parties you are only responsible for insuring the property you own. As mentioned before, you can do that by availing of our Buildings Only insurance or our Buildings and
Contents insurance. Also, your tenants have the option to take out a Contents Only Insurance policy, however, it is their responsibility to protect their belongings while stored inside your property. This is a separate insurance policy which will help them insure their contents in the event of any accidents.
